macOS 10.12.4 recommends enabling two-factor authentication

A couple of days ago, the guys from Cupertino released the final version of all their operating systems, operating systems that bring us various novelties, some of them highly anticipated by users, such as the implementation of Night Shift mode, a mode that changes the display colors according to the time of day, doing the same function as this iOS function. But as I informed you yesterday, Apple has once again limited the number of users who can use this function, preventing all Macs prior to 2012 from using it, having to resort to f.lux.

But it is not the only novelty that attracts attention. Once we have updated we can see how a balloon is displayed on the dock in the System Preferences icon. This balloon directs us directly to the iCloud options of our account, urging us to activate two-factor authentication, another of the obligations that iOS 10.3 has also brought us. It is clear that Apple wants to improve access to our accounts as much as possible and until we activate this type of authentication the balloon that informs us will continue to be present, whether we like it or not.

Two Factor Authentication is an additional security feature for our Apple ID designed to ensure that only we are the ones who access our devices and information stored in iCloud. When we add a new device to our Apple ID, Apple will ask us to verify our identity using a six-digit verification code that will be automatically displayed on all devices that are already associated with the same ID. Once we have entered the code, we will not have to do it again unless we log out, erase our device or change the password for security reasons.

I HAVE CHOSEN NOT TO SET THE DOUBLE FACTOR AUTHENTICATION AND THE BALLOON HAS DISAPPEARED FROM THE SYSTEM PREFERENCES ICON.
