macOS also alerts you to HomeKit updates at Home

Homekit

And it is that we have been enjoying HomeKit-compatible equipment for a long time and sometimes the updates are not carried out automatically, either because we have it deactivated or because we have eliminated the application of the device that is updated and in these cases it touches re-download the app and update the firmware.

In short, the important thing is that either from the Mac or from a compatible iOS device, the Home application alerts us at the moment that there is a new version available for the device. In my case, two devices have appeared to update manually and this notice reached my MacBook before it did my iPhone.

HomeKit is really safe but after installing macOS Catalina it is a little more. Also now Apple reviews or seems to review the issue of updates in more detail and in this case it is demonstrated since always speaking of me, I had never before seen the notice on my Mac of a firmware update of a HomeKit compatible device .

Be that as it may, it is important to keep the equipment updated and in this case we can do it from the manufacturer's own app, at least in my case it was. This means that if you no longer have the manufacturer's app installed, Logitech, Koogeek, Sonos or similar, you will have to install them again. Once installed on the iPhone what you have to do is look for the update and confirm it, then the circle of the update will disappear from your Mac, iPhone or iPad. I repeat, this is something that never happened to me before in HomeKit and the Home app, it happened to me with macOS Catalina a few hours ago.

Hello. Is there any way to disable the update. The Koogeek switch asks me to update the software through HomeKit but I don't want to update because I always get the unknown error. So I don't want to update it as it consumes a lot of battery power on iPhones and iPads at home trying to update continuously. In one night without using the battery drops approximately 30% in the devices.
    All the best. In
