macOS Catalina 10.15.4 beta 2 adds karaoke to Apple Music

Apple Music

If your English is not very good, it is possible that when you listen to a song in that language there are words that escape you, and thus you do not know what the lyrics are and you cannot sing them. Apple is going to help you and in the new beta that launched yesterday of macOS Catalina, it incorporates a novelty.

As Apple Music does on an iPhone, now this application shows you the lyrics of the songs in real time, synchronized with the music, as if it were karaoke. At last we can sing our favorite songs by reading the lyrics on our computer. First in front of our Mac, and then once we have learned the lyrics, in the shower ... or wherever you want.

The second beta version of macOS Catalina 10.15.4 was released yesterday, and this new update introduces support for real-time synced lyrics in the Apple Music app. This application for Mac already showed you the lyrics of the songs, but they did not move in real time to the beat of the music, which is a feature that has been available on iOS since the launch of iOS 13. Now it seems that it is incorporated into the Macs.

At the moment, not all the songs have the lyrics synchronized in time, but they are available for the most popular titles and the most listened to songs.. Songs with synced lyrics will have an interface that scrolls the lyrics as they are sung.

When realtime lyrics were introduced for iOS 13 in September 2019, Apple Music manager Oliver Schusser said in an interview that Apple has a team of employees who listen to the songs and write the lyrics to ensure they are accurate and coordinated with the music., rather than importing lyrics from an external provider. At the moment, only developers who receive the betas can enjoy this novelty. In a few days the final version will be released for all users.
