The future of macOS may come from being able to run iOS applications

macOS Server spring 2018 update

We end today with a piece of news that we have talked about on more than one occasion and that is that, at certain times, rumors have grown on the network that claimed that Apple was bringing the system closer macOS to iOS and vice versa so that in the future the two systems would be one and that it would be the devices that would make us decide between one and the other and not the system they run.

Tim Cook and his colleagues did not hesitate to comment some time ago that it was not in Apple's plans for this to happen but it seems that the rumors are beginning to circulate again.

We have to remember that with the last major version of the macOS High Sierra 10.13 system came a new file system from Apple, the APFS. It is a file system that brings many improvements and that makes the performance of Apple computers have improved. A similar thing happened with the arrival of iOS 11, when. Now it jumps to the media that, indeed, Apple could be planning that In the next big version of macOS, iPad applications can run, so that the catalog of applications available for Macs would grow exponentially.

However, this makes us think of other things and that is that Macs do not have touch properties other than the TrackPad or the Touch Bar, so surely, if this rumor is true, Apple could be preparing a possible merger of the systems of files from both platforms. For now, the only thing we can do is wait for the new versions of both iOS with iOS 12 or macOS 10.14. What is clear is that something is happening in Apple in terms of software because it seems that sources not yet formed ensure that the new versions of this year's systems will not vary in terms of new functionalities to continue to focus on stability and performance improvements.
