macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 could bring a Podcast app

The macOS High Sierra beta published a few hours ago, brings more surprises than expected. Generally the first betas are summarized in a correction of detected errors. We published this morning that Apple warns us about the incompatibility of 32-bit Apps as of macOS 10.14.

Now we have known through an information note, the possible inclusion of a Podcast app in the final version of macOS High Sierra 10.13.4. It would be one more action by Apple to take weight off iTunes, so that it remains as a content library and its player.

Thus, we would see a Podcast application independently, in the style of iOS. The information is taken from the iOS, tvOS and macOS notes regarding detailed information regarding privacy and other Apple services. In the section where Apple explains what data is shared and what data is confidential to Apple, you will find information regarding the macOS Podcast application.

It is not known if it is an expression error, or they have communicated some detail that would be communicated to the users later. Therefore, we cannot confirm the existence of such an application. In any case, Apple explains that it uses our Apple ID to sync through iCloud, each of the Podcasts we listen to.

The most relevant part of the note from the macOS part is when it states:

Your use of the Podcast app is linked to your Apple ID

leaving the door open for a future Podcast app, independent of iTunes. At least the steps they are carrying out coincide with this hypothesis.

Finally, when talking about Podcast, we do not want to stop recommending the Network podcast which you can follow on Tuesday nights, which in Soy de Mac We announce to you promptly.
