Make Safari more productive by using tab docking

Pin a tab in Safari

If there is something that I am always looking for, it is work procedures within the macOS system that make my productivity within it increase and thus be able to work in a simpler and faster way. Within the Mac system there are countless procedures that increase our productivity, from gestures on the Trackpad or mouse, multiple desktops, screenshots and a multitude of aspects within Apple's own applications.

In this case, what I am going to show you is how to have a little more space within the area that delimits the tabs that we have open in the Safari browser since on many occasions we have to enter certain Web addresses on a daily basis. we had already open as soon as we started the Safari, they would save us the time of retyping the addresses, although Safari's autofill method is very good and the prediction it makes is exquisite.

As the title of this article indicates, you have to learn to use the anchor of the tabs in Safari because that way, all those tabs that you anchor will remain in the tab bar showing compressed to the left of the window and in the order that you designate.

To be able to anchor a certain tab, all you have to do is right-click on the tab and you will be shown a pop-up window where you are given the option to anchor the tab. When you click on that option you will see that it it is compressed to a small square in which the first letter of the name of the web that hides said tab is shown.

If you want to anchor several tabs you will have to do this action in each of them and the squares with the letters will be placed in the order in which you anchor them. If you want to alter the order of them, you just have to press and drag the one you want to the position you want.

It should be said that these tabs will remain anchored in Safari until you delete that anchor so that even if we close Safari completely, when we run it again, macOS remembers the anchors and they will remain in the same place. In this way, those websites that you always visit every day will not have to look for them again to open them.

To finish, I also tell you that if you don't want to right-click on the tab to anchor or unpin, you can do the same by clicking and dragging to the right or left on the tab. To anchor press and drag to the left and to undock press and drag to the right.

Do you know if there is a way to compress the anchored tabs ?, I mean if it can be left as a button and then show them in a cascade, because with several already anchored it takes a lot of space hahaha.

Hello, thanks for the information. I would like to confirm if these tabs take a lot of resources from the compu?

    Thank you.
