If you are one of those who still use Quicktime as your default media player, you will be interested to know that this veteran player has an option to get that video window or music you are watching or listening to, always remain in the foreground ahead of all other applications that are subsequently launched.
The steps to follow are very simple and it will be enough for us to activate an option within the player display menu. To give you an idea, this option is very similar to what we can see as PiP (Picture in Picture), which iOS 9 has with which we can continue working or browsing the web for example while we watch the video in question .
Let's see how activar the option:
- The first and most obvious thing will be to run the QuickTime player from the Applications folder and select a video to start playing it.
- Now we will activate the option to keep the QuickTime video player Always visible. We will click on «Display» within the menu bar at the top, then click "Float Above All" from the drop-down menu to enable or disable the option.
- We will open another application. At this point we will observe how the player now remains in the foreground, being able to adjust the size so that it does not bother by dragging from the edges.
As you can see, it is an integrated and very simple option that does not require any command through terminal and it makes the viewing of an important video not interrupted by any other action within the system, something that for example we can take advantage of both for ourselves and for a presentation for example.
Also, if you are interested in how to run an old version of Quicktime (either because of its interface or for some specific reason), within the new systems, we will explain it to you In the following link.
