Many users confirm that VIP mailboxes in Mail are still not working properly in OS X El Capitan

Although different software updates on the system correct many of the mistakes that we can suffer normally For a time users do not always finish correcting or finding the key so that once and for all they stop giving problems. In OS X El Capitan many of them still continue and in particular one that prevents messages from being displayed inside the VIP mailboxes within Mail, Apple's email manager.

These dedicated VIP mailboxes are intended to make it easier to find messages from our important contacts, such as a family member or the head of the company. The error is causing the VIP mailboxes to show fewer messages than they should, however, it does not mean that emails are not received, but that not all that would have to pass through these mailboxes, even on Mac computers with the latest version installedi.e. OS X 10.11.1.

This bug seems to date back to the release of OS X El Capitan as it does not affect the iOS version of Mail. Although annoying is there a temporary solution that the users themselves have been able to elaborate in the Apple support forums and that although not definitive at the moment can solve the ballot to some extent.

The steps to follow are very easy:

• We will select the VIP mailbox individually
• We will click on the View menu
• We will select «Sort by» and «All mailboxes»
• We will return to the main VIP mailbox and all messages should now be displayed

At this moment Apple is working to launch the final version of OS X 10.11.2 that is already in its fifth beta and it seems that it could finish solving the problem. It is not clear yet when they will be officially released, but we assume it will be before the Christmas holidays. Even so, if you are not entirely happy with the performance of Mail, you can always try other options like AirMail.
