Meet GitFinder, a Git client that integrates seamlessly with Finder

There are several Git clients on macOS, but few have the particularity of integrating into Finder. Therefore, you will not have to manage two applications, one to perform the frequent tasks of your Git application and later handle your file in Finder. Now GitFinder promises an all-in-one, built into the Finder.

Who does not know the concepto Git, this tracks the changes made to the files and folders of a project, with the intention of detecting the changes made. In addition to informing you of version changes made to a local file or on a server, it is capable of solving conflicts between several files.

Now Taking advantage of the fact that we can see the evolutions in the Finder itself, we gain enormous productivity. The main novelty that GitFinder brings us is the possibility of access previous versions of the file that we are handling, from the context menu.

Regarding its handling, the interface is quite traditional, even somewhat outdated if we want to look for a defect. On the positive side, this interface shouldn't mislead any Git user, as it features similar working schemes.

On the left side we find the sidebar with the different characteristics: Working copies, History, file and configuration. We also have access to the labels with which we identify the different versions. On the right side, we find the different tasks, modification lists and a multitude of options.

On the other hand, the general operation of the application is more than correct. It is correctly optimized. Although it may lack some function that we can find in other Git applications, the positive part is not having one more application in the Dock, which overloads our application launcher. Adding options to the Finder or to the contextual menu allows you to work more efficiently.

To work with GitFinder you must have basic knowledge of English and install it in El Capitan or higher. The discharge is available on the developer's website and we can access a free trial month. If we finally decide to buy the application, it can be purchased for € 25
