Currently and after the arrival of the notification center to OS X, many are the applications that allow us monitor the performance of our Mac at all times. Currently in the Mac App Store we find a large number of apps but many of them are paid. Monit is a new application that has just landed in the OS X application store, it has been a little over a month old, and it is in charge of monitoring the activity of our hard disk, RAM memory and hard disk space. This application does nothing that others already available do not, but at least we can download it for free for a few days.

Once we have installed the application, we must open the notification center and go to the end, click on Edit and add Monit to the notification center. Regarding the configuration, Monit offers us three options: show only system information, network information, or all together. Within the CPU category we find the percentage of use of the CPU at that time, the number of processes, the cores as well as the name of the processor that we have installed as well as the name of the GPU of our Mac.

If we go to the Memory option, we find a graph with the usage statistics, the free, active, compressed memory, along with general information such as the GB of memory we have installed, the memory used ... The last option Disk, we just shows the percentage of hard disk that we have occupied and that we have free, along with the total size of our hard drive. This application is only available in English, occupies 7,7 MB and is compatible from version OS X 10.11 onwards.
