The Cupertino company announced a few hours ago a couple of Notable enhancements for 16-inch MacBook Pros and powerful Mac Pro desktops. In this case it is a new graphics card for the 16-inch MacBook Pro from AMD, the Radeon Pro 5600M model with 8 GB of HMB2 video memory. For the Mac Pro it offers the option of adding a new SSD through a module that allows the team to expand the storage space up to 8 TB.
In both cases it is about configuration options
This is one of those new features that does not require a large announcement from the company, since it involves two new user configuration options at the time of buying a Mac. It is about increasing the graphics performance one more point on the powerful MacBook Pros and offering the possibility of increasing the space in the Mac Pro's SSD.
In the case of the new graphics, the price of this AMD Radeon Pro 5600M with 8 GB of HBM2 memory is $875, so it would be necessary to add this amount to the team. For the Mac Pro the new 8 TB SSD module has a price of 1.500 euros. As you can see in both cases we have improvements in the performance of the equipment and this implies an increase in the total price of the equipment, logically they are equipment for professionals and this new configuration option is focused directly for them therefore the price of these new options is not suitable for most of us.
