The new MacBook Pro and the adapters you'll need

As the hours pass and as the new concepts presented by Apple regarding the new MacBook Pro are taking shape they begin to proliferate on the network complaints that are aimed at the adapters that users are going to have to purchase from now on.

Apple is the first to make its own adapters available, a more and very desirable source of income, but now is when it will be possible to verify whether the trend of the new USB-C ports included for the first time in the MacBook 12 was successful or not.

With the presentation, some time ago of the 12-inch MacBook, those of Cupertino took a step further with the inclusion in the laptop of a single USB-C port for everything we need to do. This decision came like a bomb and is that most of us wondered why they had not equipped the laptop with at least two ports of this type.

Now with the arrival of the new MacBook Pro we have four of these ports that Apple has named Thunderbolt 3 ports but with the USB-C standard. We would be talking about four ports through which the user will be able to recharge the laptop in addition to being able to be used to exchange data with it at high speed.

However, all users who have not made the move to a computer with USB-C ports today are faced with the arduous task of buying the adapters they need for their daily tasks. This type of port and adapters arrived with the 12-inch Macbook more than a year ago, so the manufacturers as well as the own Apple has had more than enough time for the situation that is now coming upon them.

The new MacBook Pros need adapters that "adapt" the peripherals that users already have to these new ports and the manufacturers, now that they see that Apple is very serious with USB-C, are going to accelerate to have it ready. as soon as possible new «devices» for the USB-C standard. Proof of this is that when we enter the accessories area in the Mac category on the Apple website, it is Apple itself that announces with great fanfare that to have a "PERFECT CONNECTION" you can buy cables and adapters.

The most purchased is going to be the USB-C Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 converter and it is that many owners of MacBook Pro from previous generations have, for example, external high-speed hard drives with a Thunderbolt 2 connection. This adapter is priced at 59 euros on Apple's own website So at the 1.999 euros that we will already have to pay for a 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar reads, we have to add these adapters that as a whole we can be talking about more than € 200.

currently one that connects to the MacBook Pro? , the charger and suddenly another monitor because ethernet is not used much in a laptop, and suddenly I do not even use another monitor, at home I use it all day and with only the charger and that's it. so I don't see the drama, the one who can buy the new macbook I don't think I'm going to cry for an adapter for something else

I differ from you Andrés. I just bought the retina 15 MacBook Pro, upgrading it on the processor and 1TB hard drive. A machine for $ 70.000 pesos. I made the investment for work reasons. Frankly it would hurt to pay € 59 adapters. You not only lose the traditional USB ports, but the HDMI and even the memory stick slot. Not to mention it loses its iconic illuminated apple AND increases the price considerably.
In its quest to be innovative, Apple has been successful a few times, but not many times. By nature, they are supposed to be machines that make everything easy for the user. Easy to use. Removing ports complicates users AND makes them spend more. I have no doubt that this new type of USB is the future, but the introduction should be little by little. Finally just comment. I was able to buy the top MacBook Pro from Apple, and I tell you something? If I would cry if I had to buy adapters for $ 1300 pesos.
