New version for OS X Server application

The hangover of updates also leaves us a new version for the OS X Server application, in this case it is the version 4.1.3 and in it are several improvements and bug fixes. Apple wants to make OS X Server ready and error-free to be compatible with OS X Yosemite 10.10.4 which is the latest available version of OS X and adds several improvements to it such as the profile manager's compatibility with new functions, MDM commands, the loads introduced in iOS 8.3 and some more that we will see after the jump.

The new version adds:

  • A new caching server configuration option for generating text DNS records in Windows format
  • Improves the Messages service for group access and improvements in the device search function of the profile manager
  • Ability to export user and group accounts to files
  • More reliable Time Machine backups and restores
  • Correction of a problem that caused the Server to crash when updating the "Profile Manager", Calendar and Wiki services
  • Update of the activation profile management for the "Profile Manager" service
  • Improvements in remote administration of the Web service and Wiki service on iPad
  • Fixed an issue where firewall rules were applied incorrectly after reboot
