When it seemed that everything was on track for Apple with Hyundai to make the Apple Car, the lack of prudence of the seconds they ruined the plans. Many analysts wondered who would now be the one to grab the bull by the horns and there were few candidates. Nissan volunteered but apparently conversations have been short and they have not come to fruition. Meanwhile Volkswagen is watching the ups and downs from its current throne and is not worried about the future Apple Car.
After the failure of the talks with Hyundai, Nissan has offered to be the one to help the company build its electric car. However, the analysts of the Financial Times state that the talks between the two companies have been short-lived and have not reached a feasible agreement for none of them.
Apple reached out to Nissan in recent months to foster a partnership for the autonomous electric car project. However the conversations are no longer active. The contact was brief and the discussions did not progress to the senior management levels.
Due to this news, Nissan shares fell 3,7% on the stock market. It seems that the union between Apple and car manufacturers for the production of the Apple Car is not going to be easy, which is called to be a true innovation in the automotive sector. But other manufacturers are not too concerned about that. For example Volkswagen has claimed there is no fear for the technology company to launch its car model on the market.
The German manufacturer through Diess, CEO of VW, has stated:
Although Apple's plans are not public, their intentions as such were "logical" because the company had experience in batteries, software and design, and has the budget to take advantage of them. We are not afraid. The automotive industry is not a typical technology sector in which you can take control with a single blow.
