The presentation on Tuesday 20th of the new iPad Pro models with the M1 processor used by the Mac from the Cupertino firm, raised a major stir regarding the possibility of Apple adding macOS to the iPad Pro.
These rumors about the arrival of macOS to the iPad Pro are not new for a long time. The truth is that Apple has always denied this merger and right now they are in the same situation, Apple has never said that it will merge the iPadOS operating systems or add macOS to the iPad, rather the opposite.
Of course it is important to say that the introduction of the M1 chip in the new iPad Pro raised again the dust on the possibility that Apple added the operating system of the Mac in the iPad. Now we have to remember those words of Tim Cook in which he explained to us that the lines in both systems were parallel but they would never cross, That was said in an edition of the WWDC. Now Apple's chief marketing officer, Greg Joswiak, also explained that they are not considering this merger:
Putting the M1 processor in the new iPad Pro is about putting together the best possible elements to do something great in the long run. There are two contradictory stories that people like to tell about the iPad and Mac, on the one hand, people say that they are in conflict with each other or that we are merging them into one: that there really is this great conspiracy that we have to eliminate the two categories and turn them into one. And the reality is that it is not true either. We are very proud of both systems and devices, each in its line, and we continue to work very, very hard to improve them step by step.
And it is that in part it makes all the sense in the world I love you operating systems are close but do not cross or merge. Apple would possibly cease to have income both from one side and the other, so we do not believe that they are interested in making this merger. What can finally come is an adaptation of some applications such as Final Cut Pipes or video editing and the like, this would give iPad Pro users another life.
