As has become customary at earnings conferences in which Apple announces how sales and its services have been throughout the previous quarter, Tim Cook takes advantage of this framework to make announcements, related, in most cases, to Apple Pay. This time, Tim Cook has returned to talk about the expansion plans of Apple Pay.

As announced by Tim Cook, Apple Pay will arrive before the end of the year in Norway, Poland and Ukraine, although he has not offered more details about the specific date of availability. The announcement of the launch of Apple Pay in Spain was also made at a results conference, but It was not until December when he landed in our country.

A few weeks ago, an executive of the Alfa-Bank Bank, located in Ukraine, stated that Apple Pay would arrive in his country in June 2018, a launch that matches Tim Cook's announcement. Last December, a rumor suggested that electronic payments technology would arrive in Poland in the second quarter of this year. Apple has announced that it continues to negotiate with banks in the area, so its launch is also likely to be imminent, as is the case in Ukraine.

Almost 4 years have passed since Apple will officially introduce Apple Pay. During 2015, only three countries had the opportunity to be added to the list of countries where it was available in addition to the United States: Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom.

The international expansion of Apple Pay came in 2016 when the number of countries increased considerably and to this day, this payment technology is now available in: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Hong Kong, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Russia, San Marino, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States.
