Notes with labels or mentions do not work in versions prior to macOS 11.3

MacOS Notes

Some of the most important news in the versions of iOS 15, iPadOS and macOS not compatible with older versions of macOS. In this case, and unfortunately, my iMac is left out of an interesting function such as that of notes with labels or mentions.

These news are great for many of us since sharing notes, adjusting their content, mentioning someone with whom you share them or seeing the tags can be very useful. In this case Apple limits these tagging and mentioning features for versions above macOS 11.3, iOS 14.5, and iPadOS 14.5.

Notice when we enter notes from an updated device

Apple warns us of this limit when we access notes and we have a computer that did not receive any of these versions. In my case, as I say above, it is because of the iMac that is "of legal age" but continues to work very well despite these limitations. Apple explains it clearly:

You have at least one device with an operating system that does not support labels or mentions. If you add a label or mention to this note, you will not be able to see the note on devices with an older operating system.

If this note is shared, it will not be visited by participants (including the owner) who use devices that have an older version of the operating system. To be able to see this note on devices with an earlier operating system, update them to the version of the operating system or remove the label or mention from this note.

In this way, the only thing left to see the notes is directly remove the mention or tag from the note.
