With almost 6 years of delay, Mac users receive the "vitaminized" version of Office compared to Windows users. This means that Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and OneNote programs have a 64-bit version or what translates to performance and reliability improvements, and new features, as they tell us from the Microsoft factory.
In the market since 1990, with countless versions since then, covering any need that arises in the day-to-day of our professional work, or of course, in the organization of our home. They were pioneers in many improvements, they were the first Suites, which allow work cross-platform (in many versions for both Windows or Mac, as well as mobile phones and tablets running on IOS or Android and of course on Windows Phone) or recently the online mode.
In my personal case, I prefer to use Mac applications (Mail, Pages, Numbers and Keynote) to work, faster in daily work (with the same functions as the Microsoft Suite) that makes it tremendously agile, and the versatility to work from IOS or iCloud, but it is true that I recommend having the Office package for those texts or complex spreadsheets that when opened in Apple applications do not transfer certain characteristics.
From Microsoft they report that their update is available for all types of licenses: Commercial installations, Office 365 consumer, Office 365 commercial, and volume licensing.
