Headphones have become one of the star gifts of Christmas. And not only from the past parties, if it is not a constant year after year. That is, despite its higher price due to technology, more and more users are opting for the wireless version. In a few years, with some exceptions, the vast majority will not have any cable.

But this time, there is a new "guest" in the market that is breaking the sales figures above. How can it be otherwise, these new headphones are the new Apple AirPods.

According to a recent study carried out by an American medium, in the domestic market 75% of sales have been wireless models on Christmas dates, compared to 50% in 2015 for those dates. To date, the market was led by Beats, with 24,1%, followed by Bose.

But how do Apple and AirPods influence this market? After the appearance of the AirPods, 25% of the wireless headphones sold were the new AirPods. On the other hand, the one who has lost the most is the market leader Beats, which remains at 15%. However, remember that Beats was acquired by Apple in May 2014, therefore, lThe apple company accounts for 40% of the market.

On the day of the AirPods launch, on December 13, there were ten times more sales than the previous day, surpassing sales on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

The same study reveals that 85% of AirPods buyers are men and 35% are young Millennials. As for the women who acquired the headphones, the purchase age is higher, as 44% are over 50 years of age.

Due to the lack of official figures, these data cannot be compared with the real data, so far we only have statement from Tim Cook indicating that the headphones have been a great success.
