Only 4 of the 50 US states will use the Apple and Google joint application

Apple and Google team up against coronavirus

There is a Spanish saying that says that no one is a prophet in his land. Neither Apple and Google are going to be. The union of the two greats to create an application to stop or at least intern it, the progression of infections by Coronavirus, it will not be too successful in the US. Although other countries like Germany or France and even Spain (Radar Covid is called), will use it in the US only 4 of the 50 states will implement it.

The biggest problem with this application is its control system for users' personal data. It is assumed that the application does not collect any data other than being positive or having been in contact with someone for Coronavirus in the last 14 days. The data is stored on the device itself and the bluetooth of the phones is used to communicate with each other.

But in the US it must be that they are not yet very clear if it is plausible to use this application because at the moment, only the Commonwealth of Virginia has confirmed that it will use it. Three more states have decided to add it but without a specific date. These are Alabama, North Dakota, and South Carolina. The rest have said no. They will not use the app.

The reasons for these refusals are generally very similar and revolve around the same premises. Many of those 47 states claim that they are evaluating other options existing on the market and will be available soon. Tennessee, Wyoming and Delaware, for example, have stated that they do not contemplate the possibility of using a tool for these purposes.

As always the decision will rest with the Authorities. Some think that the idea of the applications is not bad but the position that affirms or at least adds that it is an invasion of the privacy of the users is understood.
