OS X 10.10.3 puts more emphasis on Emoji

While using words to form sentences is still the most important way to get a message across, for anyone who just wants to send a quick message to a friend to tell them to bring some beers, sometimes words are not all you need.

Instead, a series of emoji can convey the exact same thing, and there are plenty of options that you can choose from. In OS X 10.10.3, which was recently released to developers in its first beta, Apple has made a pretty big change to the character palette, of the entire emoji system, available through the «Edit» function in most Mac applications. Apparently, the area where emoji are selected has been given a name change. Previously it was the option "Special characters", whereas now in OS X 10.10.3 it will be known as "Emoji & symbols". Obviously, the change is intended to make this section clear, making accessibility easier.

This is not all, as Apple also begins to lay down the bases for more diversity in emoji, something that Apple has previously promised, with the collaboration with the Unicode Consortium. Bringing more diversity to emoji, this starts with more options within the skin tone modifiers, and that is exactly what has been done in OS X 10.10.3. There is also apparently a good number of placeholders, for more emoji, and blank, which are not yet known what they can be used for.

Users will be able to scroll through the entire emoji list a little fasterWhile faces and icons will also be organized into categories. Apple has added a new dropdown option on all human emojis, who allows you to select from five different skin tones as you can see in the animation.
