Apple has released the first beta version of OS X 10.11.1 to all those developers enrolled in the Apple program for Mac OS X. The initial preview version of OS X El Capitan 10.11.1 beta 1 arrives with build 15B17c.
We still do not know what new features OS X 10.11.1 has integrated at this time, even without OS X El Capitan having yet come out, anyway it begins to be a common practice in Apple since without going any further you will remember the iOS 9 release, which was published shortly after the beta version of iOS 9.1.
Generally minor updates OS X's focus on minor bug fixes, performance improvements, and supporting additional features.
Mac developers can download this beta version of OS X 10.11.1 via the official website of the Developer Center or as always, simply by going to the updates tab of the App Store.
Presumably OS X 10.11.1 beta 1 will also be available in no time for all those Mac users enrolled in the public beta program from Apple, however at the moment it is only available to registered developers.
As usual we always recommend that you only use this type of beta versions in test environments and not as the main system, since there may be malfunctions so backup copies will have to be made first.
For the clueless, OS X El Capitan is not yet available beyond beta versions. OS X El Capitan 10.11 is currently in the Golden Master phase, OS X El Capitan 10.11 is scheduled to be released to the general public, September 30 as a free download.
