The beta version of the new OS X Mavericks operating system released for developers has many improvements implemented and some more that are still to come ... some of these improvements are a bit hidden and they are not as obvious as the Maps application or the Finder improvements, but they are also present in this new OS X.
This time we find a new possibility implemented in the configuration options of 'Dictation and speech' that will allow us to use this function without having to be connected to the Internet in addition to deactivating the sending of our comments to Apple's servers.
To activate this new feature we will only have to access from System Preferences> Dictation and Speech and select the option: Use 'Enhanced Dictation'
Once the option is selected, a dialog box will appear in which we are informed that using 'Enhanced Dictation' allows offline use and continuous dictation with live comments and that these comments will not be sent to Apple. It also tells us that to work it needs to download 745 MB, so in principle we will need to have a connection for this download and enough space on our hard drive.
With this new option available in the beta of OS X Mavericks we can have total security that what we dictate to our Mac for it to write, will not go to any Apple server.
