OS X Mavericks: 'Do Not Disturb' for Notification Center

os-x-mavericks

Undoubtedly the new OS X Mavericks has brought us a lot of news and one of them really important for me is the possibility of using an 'old acquaintance' of iOS on our Mac. It is an interesting option for the Notification Center of the Mac, if that is: 'Do Not Disturb' option is available in this new OS X Mavericks Beta 1.

We all know the option that we currently have available in Apple's OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 with which we can deactivate the notifications we receive in the Notification Center, but with this new 'Do Not Disturb' that Apple adds to OS X Mavericks 10.9 we have many more configuration options.

Let's see what these options allow us to do this 'Do Not Disturb', although If you have a device with the iOS operating system we can say that it is very similar not to say that it is the same, adapted to the possibilities offered by our Mac:

  • Something really important is that we can choose the exact schedule in which we do not want notifications to enter us once the 'Do Not Disturb' option is activated.
  • Another option that we have available allows us to activate / deactivate the entry of notifications when the Mac is in sleep mode.
  • It allows us to activate / deactivate the entry of notifications when we mirror the screen on a TV or projector.

Besides this it also adds the possibility of enable or disable incoming Facetime calls on MacWe can even select the blocking of any of the calls through a drop-down in case we want those of some specific people to enter or if someone calls us repeatedly in the purest iOS style.
