Peepers will have a harder time with this Kensington screen filter for MacBook Pro

Accessories brand Kensington has just released a privacy filter for the MacBook Pro. This filter does double duty: prevent your neighbor from reading everything you write, including passwords, gaining a lot of direct privacy and on the other hand, avoid the most shocking light for our eyes.

This Kensington design isn't especially cheap. The version for the 13-inch MacBook Pro is € 71,95, while the eldest of the family of 15 inches is priced at € 79,95. If you are one of those who spend all day in front of the laptop outside the office, it will be good for you.

Firstly, accessory prevents gaze from more than 30 degrees, is the perfect measurement for those who sit next to you in the train, a cafeteria or other public premises. On the other hand, using this filter Blue light is reduced by up to 22%, reducing eye fatigue.

But in practice, the use of this accessory is very original. Placed on one side, we have a shiny face, placed on the other, dull. If we use the glossy side, we do not find big differences with the screen without a filter. Instead, the filter is acting and removing the light that is most harmful to the eyes.

On the other hand, if we put the face "matte", we find colors less resplendent and the highlights are eliminated. On this side, the screen looks somewhat grainy, although it is not appreciated in all cases.

Varying from one face to another is done in an instant, by being attached to the screen with magnets. For transport, Kensington provides us with a plastic sleeve. The only downside we see with the filter is its use in certain positions on the screen. If it is less than 90 degrees (towards the screen) the filter hangs and can become kinked.

Finally, if we want to close the screen with the filter on, it is possible. Only that we will not be able to close the Mac completely, although it does go to sleep.
