MacID-update-1

This popular application that allows users to unlock their Mac thanks to the fingerprint sensor (Touch ID) of the iPhone or iPad, has just received a major update with a number of very useful features that take full advantage of the bluetooth capabilities of those two devices.

For its part, the application has a cost of 3,99 Euros for iOS devices being totally free for Mac. Without further ado, let's see what are some of its most important news.

Although a priori it seems that the software could not be improved, the application developer, Kane cheshire, keeps moving forward and adding new features that make it the best app of its kind that have appeared to date. This version 1.3.2 of MacID for both iOS and OS X is not different from the one we already knew in its day, however the number of changes has been so great that it is worth making a small review mentioning them all.

Some of these changes have been requested by the user community for a long time, such as that the developer update the Sparkle framework that has caused so many headaches lately due to possible security holes and that we talk about in this other article. There is also now the possibility to use include keyboard shortcuts to send your Mac's clipboard to the iOS device, or also a quick relaunch option to restart the application in case of problems with the bluetooth connection.

In addition to this, it has been taken into account as previously mentioned any issue related to bluetooth protocol, essential for connecting and unlocking the Mac, since if for some reason the connection is not available, an exclamation will be displayed on the MacID icon if we are using them in the Dock, it even adds the possibility of registering more than two associated devices to our Mac to unlock it although the developer does not advise it due to the difficulties shown by the system itself to manage multiple connections.

If you are interested in knowing the complete list of changes you can do it from this link. On the other hand, the application for Mac is not available in the Mac App Store so to download it you will have to go to the developer website.
