Quickly switch between windows in the same application

windows app

Today we are going to talk about a trick that will facilitate your interaction with OSX, and it is that although we have stable and powerful operating systems, it is always advisable to customize the operating system options to our liking. Configurations ranging from aesthetic changes (wallpapers, desktop themes, etc.), changes in RAM memory management (with customization of applications that start when the system starts), to small changes like keyboard shortcuts ...

And today we are going precisely with a shortcut that is quite useful to me. If I talk about the keyboard shortcut to change applications quickly, many of you will know that it is done comfortably by pressing CMD and TAB, a shortcut that is used in many operating systems (using Control in Windows) and that is already standardized. But, What happens when we want to change the window of an application that has multiple windows open?

windows 1

Let's see how to change the keyboard shortcut that comes by default to 'Center in active window or next' (what we called changing windows in the same application). For this we will go to the 'settings menu', and then we will enter the 'keyboard' settings. You can also search for 'Keyboard' directly in Spotlight.

windows 2

Within the keyboard options you can change different parameters, including 'Shortcuts' what are keyboard shortcuts. If in the left column you select keyboard, You will see many keyboard shortcuts among which is 'Center in active window or next', shortcut that by default is selected as Shift + F4. Honestly, it is not a shortcut that is comfortable for me so let's change it ...

windows 3

So, if to change the application we use CMD + Tab, an interesting shortcut to switch windows within an application could be Alt + Tab, a combination of keys that you can use quickly while you write so I think it can be very useful.

If you can think of any other shortcut to change, from this menu you can change all the shortcuts you want, so you just have to tinker a little.

I use Witch, it is a very good "plugin" that not only allows you to switch from one window to another, but also allows you a small display of its content before making the "switch" to that window. The bad, you have to pay for it, it's not free but it's worth it

For this what I use, I understand that it comes by default on mac, it is:
CMD + TAB once in this mode we will give it to the app that we want and we give the down or up arrow and it lets us choose which window we want.
    Greetings all.

    Info is always good!
