Ralph Lauren announces the signing of Angela Ahrendts to the Board of Directors

Tim Cook announced the hiring of Angela Ahrendts, last October 2013, The one who was CEO of Burberry, one of the legendary British luxury brands since its creation in 1856, signed for another of the great companies in the market, Apple. His signing came a few months after the hiring of former Yves Saint Laurent CEO Paul Deneve, and today he is fully integrated into Apple.

Now the firm Ralph Lauren, announces the signing (after a vote practically confirmed already) of Angela Ahrendts for the Board of Directors of the company and plans to appoint Michael George, also for the Company's Board of Directors.

Does this mean that Ahrendts is leaving Apple?

No. What this means is that he will become part of the board of directors, continuing his work in Apple stores and all of this will become official next summer. Patrice Louvet himself, President and CEO of Ralph Lauren, said,

Angela and Mike are two of the most respected leaders in business today as each of them has driven powerful growth and created superior value at some of the best-known brands on the market, and I am sure they will benefit greatly from your experience and perspective to elevate our brand; evolve our product, sales, and shopping experience. They will also help us expand our digital and international presence and increase our productivity.

There is no doubt about the good work done by Angela Ahrendts, in these years at Apple and in its previous stages for brands in which she worked. Now Ahrendts herself explains that it is an honor for her to be part of this company.
