Reeder 3.0 exits the beta phase and is now available for purchase

Reeder 3-mac-1

Reeder news aggregator finally lands back on the Mac App Store and this time it does it in version 3.0 after a public beta phase that began on July 30 of this year. The development since the second version of what is perhaps the most famous news aggregate on Mac, has served to bring with it the long-awaited compatibility with OS X El Capitan.

Specifically adds better support for extensions dedicated to sharing such news, new sources to display news headlines, an improved full screen mode and what is one of the most important for me, an improved smart folder functionality with more options when filtering the various news sources.

For example now if there is no news to show within Favorites and in smart folders you can hide in "Unread / Unread" if required. Other changes refer to the status bar, which now shows the full URL of the link and a new private browsing option that users can enable in reading settings.

Moreover, also the change of the individual news has been improved and it is now possible to navigate with a new "drag" gesture. Of course, the new version also includes several bug fixes along with new sharing options, that is, to be able to send an article to the LinkedIn account, save it to Evernote, share to an iPhone, iPad or Mac via Airdrop ...

If you already have OS X El Capitan installed it is also compatible with split screen option, Split ViewAllowing manage two applications at the same time in the same space.

Reeder 3 requires at least OS X 10.10 Yosemite and costs 9,99 euros. For users who already have version 2, the update is free and is offered automatically through the Mac App Store.
