OS X El Capitan What's New Review: Maps and What's New

Maps-el-capitan

There are only 6 days left for the official launch of OS X El Capitan and we continue to refresh our memory with those improvements that the new Apple operating system adds. If yesterday we highlighted the option added in El Capitan to see where we have the cursor at all times and how to activate or deactivate this option, this time we are going to see the added improvements to the native Maps app and that makes direct reference to public transport and its schedules.

This option will be active in some cities at the time of the launch of the operating system and we hope that it will expand over time in the rest. Apple will offer us the possibility to see and receive directions, schedules and possible incidents in public transport to get where we want. But in addition to the bus, train and metro it is also possible to receive directions directly to go on foot or even by ferry.

The Maps application continues to add important improvements for users and little by little it is moving away from that first and problematic application that was at its launch to become a very useful application. Another novelty is the possibility of preparing the route we want to follow on our Mac and send it directly to the iPhone. In this way we can follow the directions from our smartphone and not get lost.

Maps Connect, TripAdvisor reviews and company acquisitions to improve the user experience with Maps on OS X are some of the improvements that have been seen in recent months and we hope these advances do not stop now and Apple keep betting on competing with one of the big ones if not the biggest,Google Maps.
