Safari Technology Preview 140 Now Available

Safari Technology Preview

Following the bi-weekly tradition, the guys from Cupertino have released a new version of the experimental Safari Technology Preview browser, a browser that reaches version 140. Apple uses this browser to test new features that don't always end up in the final version of Safari.

This new version, as we can read in the release notes, includes improvements in the Web Inspector, CSS, Web API, Web Animations, JavaScript, WebAssembly, Accessibility...

Although this browser is not designed for everyone, if you have compatibility issues with Safari and you don't want to use other browsers, you can give this version a try.

A few days ago, we published an article in which we discussed the stability and compatibility issues that Safari has according to a large number of users and that the community has begun to call Safari, the new Internet Explorer.

If you already have Safari Technology Preview installed, this new update is available via the Software Update menu within the System Preferences application.

If you haven't given it a try yet, you can do so through the website to Apple developers, a version that can download any user without the need for a developer account.

This version of Safari is compatible with both macOS Monterey and macOS Big Sur. Works completely independently of Safari, which allows us to use it independently of macOS Safari.

Alternatives to Safari

On a personal level, I consider Safari to be a good browser, without more. Safari it doesn't offer me anything new that I can't find in other browsers than if they are available in other ecosystems. Unless you only use Apple products, using Safari as your only browser doesn't make sense.

now from Microsoft Edge is based on Chrome, This browser has become an excellent option for Chrome users on Mac since, unlike Google's browser, Edge consumes much less resources and offers us support for the same extensions.
