Steve Jobs has inspired the creativity of many people, whether for the creation of movies, books, decorative figures, articles of clothing, electronic products ... But in most of the time this type of object does not attract special attention. However, today we are talking about one that does, and it does so especially because of the materials used.

Jason Mecier, is an artist who resides in San Francisco and using the mythical image that Albert Watson made in 2006 (published for Fortune magazine and that was also the cover image of the official biography of Steve Jobs written by Walter Isaccson in 2011 ) created a portrait made up of remains of electronic devices.

But what makes this portrait truly unique are the materials used for its creation, since they have not been chosen at random, but have been carefully selected. Jason has used 9 kilograms of electronic waste, including the remains of mobile phones (among which no iPhone remains are found), iPods, headphones, Mac keyboards, recordable CDs, batteries, memory cards, mice… According to Jason, has used all the elements that helped Steve Jobs revolutionize technology.

Some of the works that Jason Mecier has created include portraits of Stevie Nicks, David Bowie and Snoop Dogg. The original portrait was sold in 2014, but its owner he has been forced to sell it in order to rebuild his house, a house that was ravaged by one of the recent hurricanes that have ravaged the United States over the past year. We do not know what the sale price will be, but if you are interested in buying this work for your private collection, you can contact its current owner at nickjobsforsale@gmail.com.
