Samsung Milk Music will lower the blind in September

The streaming music market is finding fewer and fewer rivals. At the end of last year Rdio lowered the blind leaving many millions of users unattended who were forced to migrate to Apple Music or to Spotify. Shortly after, the messaging application Line announced that it was also forced to close its streaming music service, a service that it had bought from Microsoft a couple of years ago. Now it is Samsung's turn with its streaming music service Samsung Milk Music, which the Korean company has announced will stop providing service next September.

This music service was launched first in the United States as a great bet two years ago, years in which it has barely achieved market share that allows it to continue to maintain the service throughout the world. According to Samsung, which will eliminate the Milk Music application in future updates, it wants to focus on partnering with a streaming music service to continue offering this type of service, but without depending directly on it.

We believe that by working with partners, innovation will grow, device sales will improve, and users will be able to enjoy enriching experiences.

Milk Music was launched in 2014 as an exclusive service for users of the Korean firm's devices.. Shortly after, it added the Milk Video and Milk VR service to expand the multimedia offer, but all these platforms have not reached the mark among users. Milk Video closed in 2015, Milk Music will close next month and Milk VR for now will be traveling companions, at least for now.

Earlier this year it was rumored that Koreans might be interested in buying Tidal, in a plan to be able to expand its music service to other platforms. Those rumors of purchase were denied by the Samsung firm shortly after its publication.
