MacOS Mojave Second Public Beta Now Available

macOS Mojave

Better late than never. Although the guys from Cupertino have taken it easy to open the beta program, once they started there is no going back. Late yesterday, following the release of the developer beta, Apple released the second public beta of macOS Mojave, so that all users who are part of this program, can continue testing the news.

If you are part of the public beta program, you just have to go to the Mac App Store and click on Updates, so that the new beta begins to download and you can install it on your Mac. If you have not yet encouraged to be part of the program of public betas, you just have to visit this website and sign up.

The second public beta carries the same build number as the third developer beta, so both betas offer the same functionality. Among the main novelties that this second macOS beta offers us for users of the public beta and third for developers we find:

  • Dynamic desktop, which changes as the day passes by modifying the color of the wallpaper. This dynamic desktop should be compatible with night mode, something that unfortunately and inexplicably is not and everything indicates that it will not be in the future.
  • Updated Quick View with tool that allows us to modify images quickly.
  • Finder updated with new functions and visual improvements that will allow us to interact with our files in a different way.
  • Stacks of files. Mojave allows us to stack, by file types, all the documents that are on our Mac desktop, in order to quickly organize our desktop.
  • New screen capture function, which allows us to modify them as we perform them in addition to allowing us to perform video captures.
