Before starting with the article, we must clarify that this program based on WhatsApp Web It is not valid for the iPhone at the moment, so when it asks you to scan the QR code it will not work with this device. Being clear about this point and if you have another terminal, then it is possible that this application may interest you.

As most of you already know, WhatsApp is the most popular messaging tool among users of iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Windows PhoneHowever, developers have never deigned to launch different desktop clients to match… until now. Mac users are in luck thanks to a project that appeared on GitHub that brings us an application to make use of this service on our computers.

WhatsMac is actually a wrapper based on the WhatsApp web client, but it is well enough finished so that you hardly notice this fact. It is open source, so if you have programming knowledge you can even gossip about how it has been carried out to interact with the web client.

The mechanics are very simple, we will simply have to scan the QR code from a mobile application compatible with WhatsApp to make it work and thus pair them. As I had already mentioned, it is right at this point where it does not work with iPhone for the moment and that we hope will be solved soon.

You can download the application from this GitHub link to install it. further if you have Gatekeeper enabled We will have to run the application by pressing the right button (Ctrl + click) on the icon and we will select open.

Once we have done this we will have the application ready with our contacts to start sending or receiving messages. For now, only if you have a terminal based on Android, Blackberry or Windows Phone, you will be able to use the service while waiting for the developers of the web application to modify the QR system or to launch an application compatible with iPhone to be able to pair the device with the client.
