Simplenote is updated to version 1.1

OS X

There are applications that seem abandoned by their developers, and for a while Simplenotote it gave the impression of being among them. Without redesigns, without updates, without improvements and without changes of any kind, Automattic seemed to tell us with this abandonment that its notes platform was not interesting in its version of Mac OS X, but fortunately it does not seem that it is not.

Getting better

Simplenote update 1.1 comes with two significant changes: the first is the brutal improvement in the performance of the application (especially if we use it in OS X El Capitan) and the second is a icon redesign to make it more in line with the times. Both improvements are welcome and necessary, making using the application faster and more enjoyable now.

Even so, to a company of the magnitude of Automattic (owner of the WordPress platform) you have to ask a little more. There are millions of users of your notes application in the cloud, so more constant updates with improvements should be something more common and not news that we give from year to year.

With Evernote in one of your worst moments From the last few years, Simplenote has a good chance to grab some more market share. It is true that they are different and that Evernote is much more complete, but it is no less true that many Evernote users simply point to some text and close it, this being the user that Simplenote must capture if it wants to achieve a more evident progression in users.
