Despite being the undisputed king in the streaming music market, the Swedish firm still does not offer us a hi-fi version as if we can find it on Tidal or more recently on Amazon Music HD, a service available in Spain since the end of 2020 .
If you use Spotify habitually and you were waiting for a HiFi version, you are in luck, since the Swedish company has announced the launch of Spotify HiFi throughout 2021, without specifying prices or in which countries this modality will be initially available.
Spotify has counted on Billie Eilish to carry out the event of this new service, the same singer who is about to premiere a documentary about her beginnings in the world of music on Apple TV +. In the video Eilish highlights the need to be able to listen to music in the same quality in which it was recorded, in order to capture all the nuances that the artist has added.
Spotify HiFi, like Tidal and Amazon Music HD, offers us lossless sound, superior to what we can find on a CD and far removed from what we can find in any streaming video service that does not offer this quality, as is the case of Apple Music.
Regarding the price of Spotify HiFi, it is most likely that it will be the same as that we can find in Tidal, although it is also likely that it will launch a launch offer for all those users who go from the version with compression to the HiFi mode.
Apple Music stays last
When Apple Music is about to turn 6 on the market, there is no recent rumor that Apple has plans to launch a HiFi version of Apple Music. The reasons why Apple has not yet launched this modality are unknown but it is especially striking when we consider Apple's relationship with the music industry.
