Spotify is now available for Apple TV and supports Siri

Spotify

In recent months, we have seen Spotify harshly criticize some of the constraints your music streaming service faces, limitations that Apple Music does not have. One of the aspects that hurts the most in Spotify is having to give Apple 30% of the subscriptions if users contract Spotify from the application.

In order not to have to pay this 30%, Spotify withdrew this option a little over a year ago, as did Netflix. While the European Union studies to process this lawsuit, the guys from Spotify are taking advantage of the news that has come from the hand of iOS 13 and tvOS 13, so that Spotify is now available on Apple TV.

It seems that the Swedes of Spotify did not see with good eyes to offer an application for Apple TV, at least until now. With iOS 13 and tvOS 13, we can finally ask Siri to play songs not just from Apple Music, but also from any other streaming music service. In this case Spotify.

The latest update of Spotify for iOS, also offers the version for tvOS. The main novelty, in addition to allowing the application to be installed on an Apple TV, is the one I mentioned above: managing Spotify playback via Siri with our HomePod, AirPods, CarPlay, iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.

To download the version of Spotify for Apple TV, we just have to visit the tvOS App Store in case we do not have automatic downloads activated on Apple TV. If we have them activated, we just have to download the update on our iPhone, iPad so that it is automatically downloaded to our Apple TV 4 or Apple TV 4k, the only models that have an Apple TV.
