Do you still have problems with the WiFi on your Mac with OS X 10.10.2?

Network-wifi-hidden-add-0

Last January 27 Apple released OS X Yosemite version 10.10.2 with several interesting improvements for all users. One of these improvements and bug fixes was directly related to a serious problem in the WiFi connection on the MacNow, after a few days, we still receive some messages about connection failures or even some cannot connect to the network.

We are facing a problem that to this day and personally speaking I have not had or have on my Mac, but it is evident that the fault exists and many of you are suffering it on your own machines. Apple explained in the previous update that the problem was solved, but it seems that not all users think the same.

Therefore we are going to carry out this little survey and see how many users still have the problem of the WiFi connection, after updating to version 10.10.2. With it we can have a small range of users who are still affected today.

Is your Mac having problems with the WiFi connection?

Loading ... Loading ...

Besides we can always use blog comments to help users who have the problem and although it is true that some of you have already told us that even calling the Apple Care service has not been solved, others if the new update solved the problem.

We also know of some cases of users who, by changing the WiFi channel, entering the router configuration, have managed to solve the problem. The strange thing about all this from the beginning of the failure, is that it affects some users if it does not affect others. In any case, hopefully Apple will solve the problem once and for all even if it is launching a patch or similar.

Since I installed this update, every time I turn on my computer it always appears deactivates the transparency, I have to enter the settings and Accessibility to enable it again, that is very annoying.

The wifi recognizes me but it does not connect, I have to turn off the mode and turn it on again so that it connects; it does not work with turning off the wifi on the iphone. Before this update (8.1.3) it didn't happen to me. By the way, I use the iphone 6.

Sorry, the bug occurs in the macbook pro not with the iphone; I've gotten lost !!!

Hello everyone, I have a top-of-the-range imac 27 i7 it hasn't even been 3 weeks old, it came to me with yosemite 10.10.1 and as I turned it on I updated it to 10.10.2 and I have the same problems as you with the wifi, it disconnects me continuously making it impossible for me Being able to use it by wifi I have spent more than 2000e I am outraged and I am already doubtful if it will be from Yosemite or will it be something defective in my imac, I do not know what to think because I tried to do everything to the wifi until changing the router and nothing the The problem is not mine, it is from yosemite or will it be from a manufacturing defect or something from my imac? I find it shameful that this happens after what they are worth and the prestige that apple has, I don't know what to do or what the problem will be.

Good boy, the truth is that if it is a chore for the users who are suffering it ... I recommend the same as Miguel, some users are changing the WiFi channel and they solved it, of course the results of the survey cry out to heaven, many affected I see 🙁

      You already tell us

I work at home and it is an ordeal to connect to the internet from my clients' offices, almost no network works for me and I cannot change the channel to the router, I have to connect to my mobile. Great version shit, with 10.10.1 it did not fail me.

  7.   Baby said

Well, I think the first thing I'm going to do is take it to the technical service and make a test to rule out that it is a problem with my imac that comes from the factory badly or that it has something defective in any part. Is the doubt I have !! And from that, there is a solution. I think that it is not normal to have to find a life to avoid a very expensive and new thing from failing at home I have 3 different laptops and none of that happens to the laptops or to any other thing that I connect and there is no touch to anything just connect It will already work. Well, and better should be a recently purchased apple computer. I'll tell you how the tes went if it's my makina or yosemite's problem. What do you think? Thanks a greeting.

I have a macbook air from a year and a half ago. For 8 months I had wifi problems with the Maverick, in the last updates of the Maverick it was solved.
With Yosemite I have had problems again, disconnecting the Wi-Fi from the Mac and turning it back on was fixed. With the new update it is worse, now sometimes I have to turn off the computer for it to work, the wifi is on but it cannot connect to the router, or it does not see any router.
A shame that they do not solve this problem. If I boot with the bootcamp in windows 7 it works perfectly.

Well, since I updated, I not only have problems with the wifi, it also fails to start from time to time. Do you think they may be related?

I do not know the issue of the guarantee, if I take it to the aplestore is it possible that they give me a new one?

    1.    Jordi Giménez said

It depends on the time you have, they will help you solve the problems since you have technical and even telephone assistance for a while. Give you a new one, I see it more complicated. Call Apple if you've recently had him. Regards!

I have a MacBook Pro and with Maverick I was doing a thousand wonders. It was installing the Yosemite and to hell with the wifi connections. Change all the parameters of the router, change the channel, the antennas, call Movistar and they came to check the router and OPv ... No, the problem is Yosemite, period. I have 1000 cases open and they ignore me at Apple, I have the apple care and like someone hears it rain ... Apple's service is very unfortunate when, above all, we talk about pots worth a lot ...

Good afternoon. I have just since today, a week with the problem of Wifi. I called AppleCare but it has not been solved either. The only way I can think of to be able to continue using the Mac as before, is to go back to a previous version, be it 10.10.1 or Mavericks. The problem is that I do not have any backup made, and restoring it from the factory I do not know if it will be able to download the factory version (if it does so, it returns to Mavericks) since the Wifi does not work for more than 5 seconds. Is there a way to do it? Thank you all.

    1.    Jordi Giménez said

Good afternoon. Like many of you, after upgrading to Yosemite, the mac when connected to the internet via wifi, it disconnects itself. I have called Apple and after spending more than half an hour talking to them and removing a folder from the computer, turning it off, turning off the router and turning it back on, despite seeming to have solved the problem, it remains the same. In Apple they confirmed that more people had called with the same problem, that they would put them in contact with the Central….
My mac is actually barely a month old, but otherwise I'm delighted with it. Let's see if with a little luck they will solve the problem for us.

Good night everyone, as I mentioned, they passed some teas to my imac and everything went well for now, thus ruling out that that was the problem, until they do not update yosemite, we will be very puteados, it is unstable and with problems for now while they are I feel like updating it, what I have done has been to put another router (free), change the channel, restore permissions, and I improve. Although it is still a trick I hope they get a patch or update soon this is a shame it is an abuse yaa !! Apple we want solutions not problems !! And we do not see them ...

    1.    Jordi Giménez said

Hello Baby, we are glad to read that you solved it despite having to perform those tasks. We all exert a bit of pressure and there are several tickets that Apple should have on its website, so let's hope they solve it with a patch or update.

Hello, I have a MacBook Air 11 from the beginning of 2014, and despite having done a clean installation of maveriks to Yosemite, the problem is that if I am downloading PLAFF while offline, with turning off and on being the laptop's wifi it is solved but this is not a solution. My question is how do I change the channel or what have you said about touching the wifi as a baby?
Greetings and patience, there is no better science.

Hello good afternoon, finally due to the problems with the wifi in the mac book pro retina, (the wifi turns on but does not connect) I have decided to reinstall from a backup of the previous version and all the wifi problems have disappeared. I hope that in a future update, they will solve this uncomfortable problem and that it has led me to the head, what if the router, what if the channel etc.
I do not understand how Apple has not already released a patch or a small update to correct it.
    All the best

Another affected person here, in my case I have been dragging the problem from Mavericks, there is no way to get a stable connection, it falls continuously and you have to turn off the wifi and turn it on again to work. I have tried 400 solutions that I have read out there (including the router channel change) and nothing works. Yosemite I have installed it since 0 3 times (the 3 versions that have come out since it was released) and nothing ...
This is exasperating, needless to say that the Mac is the only device that gives me problems at home. 🙁

Hi all. I have had a mac book pro for less than 1 year. The same thing has happened to me as everyone, since the Yosemite 10.10.2 update I can hardly connect to Wi-Fi. I have done everything, but nothing, IT DOES NOT WORK.
Is there a possibility to go back to before the update I made about 20 days ago?
Because prior to this update I had no problem. In windows there is the possibility to go back to a point but in Mac I do not know it, now I am entering to see Mac vision.

If you have made many copies with time machine,
Restart the computer and at startup press the R key, you will enter the restoration mode, choose to restore from a time machine copy prior to the update and that's it.

Hello everyone, I had no problems with the connectivity with 10.10.1 and it was updating to 10.10.2 and the problems began, luckily I found this link, which I hope can help you as it has worked for me, solving all problems with wifi.
Basically it is to reinstall the wifi kext of version 10.10.1, which is attached in one of the posts.

    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6802848

Luckily, it has solved my connection problems.

  23.   Sebas said

Hi. I have had the same problem as all of you with a newly purchased iMac with Yosemite installed. The solution has been to change the wifi channel. Click on the apple in the upper left corner, then on "about this Mac", then on "system information", you look for "wifi" and you can see all the information on your network. Look at "channel", and if it says 1, call your provider and ask him to put a high channel, 11 or 13, although the best is 11 because 13 gives problems on some machines. In my case, I have been sailing for a few hours now without any problem, without cuts and apparently with more speed than before. I hope this solution is worth it.

Hello, I have a Mac Book Pro, with the latest Yosemite update and the connection via WIFI is working best, it is lost, in the status bar icon it appears as connected and when clicking, no network appears, I click "disable WIFI" and I can't re-enable it, I only have to restart and more than once when restarting I get a warning saying: "no hadware installed" and reinstall the operating system and nothing! If anyone has found a solution, I would appreciate sharing it!

I have updated to 10.10.3 and the wifi again to hell, luckily the fix that indicated some messages above continues to work

  28.   Oscar said

The problem with the disconnection of the wifi also remains in the macbook go mic, however in the other apple and non-apple devices, at home I do not have this problem. I have been to an apple store in my city and they say that many customers come with the same problem and say they do not know what it can be. Nor do I understand what the company is waiting for to solve the matter.

  29.   Vicente said

I have updated to 10.10.3 and it continually gave me disconnection problems, although it appeared to me that it was connected. I have solved it for now, if it does not fail again, in the following way: System Preferences. Network. I select my wifi and click on advanced. I choose TCP / IP and there in Configure IPv6 I choose "local link only" accept and apply. This has solved the problem, at least for now. I hope it continues like this. It is a matter of testing each one on their team. Luck.

Apple is playing with people's trust (and their money). Go company shit, they release updates without first checking if all the programs, peripherals and others work correctly. I have updated to OS X El Capitan and to hell with Wi-Fi, with the grass that cost me the antenna. I believe that these people agree with other manufacturers, so that from time to time, when updating, you have to spend another money on antennas and other gadgets.
I switched from PC to Mac because they said it was very stable and look ...
Good for Apple !! Fuck them.

  30.   Mark said

Vicente has also done what you indicated and the problem persists …… I will continue to wait for a solution from apple technical support

    1.    Vicente said

Marcos tries this other to see how it works.

The first thing you should do is disconnect from Wi-Fi

Now, we must go to the Finder and then click on Go and Go to the folder or keyboard combination ⇧⌘G. In the window that appears we must enter the following address / Library / Preferences / SystemConfiguration

Now you will see a series of files that we have to delete, but I recommend that you create a folder and back them up in case something goes wrong. The files are as follows:
      • com.apple.airport.preferences.plist
      • com.apple.network.identification.plist
      • com.apple.wifi.message-tracer.plist
      • NetworkInterfaces.plist
      • preferences.plist

Note: there are cases where you only have to delete 4 files, because there is not one. Do not delete another if you do not have it, it works the same way.

Done, now restart your Mac and the Wi-Fi connection problems will be gone.

  31.   Vicente said

The files you delete do not delete them. copy them in case you have to reinstall them because it does not work for you and ask for them

    1.    Virginia said

Thank you very much for the advice. I have done it as you explain and it seems that the problem has been solved. Also the Bluetooth one. I have a Magic Mouse and a wireless keyboard and lately I have a lot of problems. When I start the computer Yosemite recognizes it but then it disconnects and the struggle is such that in the end I always end up working with the track and the laptop keyboard. I have a Macbook Pro retina from 2013.
I also take this opportunity to ask you if it is advisable to update Captain or if it is better to wait a little longer for the bugs to be solved ... If Steve Jobs raised his head ...

  32.   Vicente said

There is another possibility, and it is to change the channel that our wifi uses. If that channel is used by several Wi-Fi in our environment, we could have interferences. the channel must be changed by entering our router. As each one will have a different model and telephone company, it is best to search the internet for "how to change Wi-Fi channel". and follow the steps indicated for our router.

To find out which channel we use and which channels in our environment do the following:

press the alt key and click on the wifi icon in the upper right side bar.

A menu will be displayed that will show us information

If you pass the mouse arrow over the other Wi-Fi that your device detects and leave it on top of it for a couple of seconds, you will get all the information and the channel it uses.

Now, once you know which channel you have and if there are many more people on that same frequency, choose a channel that no one uses or that the least number of users use.

I hope it helps you. Each team is a world and what works in one, does not work in another.

  33.   Mark said

Thanks Vicente also with what you told me to do and I still have the problem that I will still continue to bother the technical support people so that they can find a solution for me once and for all.

  34.   Vicente said

The truth is that I am sorry that my little help has not served you.

I recommend that you reinstall the Operating System again.

    anyway do the following before:

    go to System Preferences.
    choose network
in network, under the column that are wifi, ethernet firewire…. click on the gear wheel next to the + - signs
In the drop-down menu that appears, choose "establish order of services"
In the window that appears, select wi-fi and drag it to the first position. put it first
    give him to accept
    hit apply and test

It's silly, but small details often make great things.

if that doesn't work for you either, I recommend that you install the system from scratch. I'm sure that after so much changing and trying solutions, there is something out there activated that makes nothing work for you

Turn on the wifi .. delete the automatic connection list and manually enter the address eg. 192.168.1.X where x is equal to an IP number, choose a high one before 250q, it is rarely assigned by the automatic dhcp. After that .. DNS server put the same as the router .. and in general mask 255.255.255.0.
This is applied mostly in homes where less specialized users.
    The mac is crap. Regards!

    Hello, to say something ...
I join this long race for a solution, so be it ... SOLUTION, for this problem we have with the constant interruption of the internet.
My Mac i5 is from mid-2011, and since I have it, (July 2014), the internet connection is cut off. The rest of my equipment, iPad and IpadMIni, SmartTV, in addition to mobile phones, do not disconnect from the network. Apple does not deign to listen to these prayers, because they are really prayers to be able to navigate, download apps, or simply update to El Capitan without download errors due to lack of connectivity.
I have tried all the solutions that you point to on the web… and none of them are final.
I've managed to download the new El Capitan update ... and it seems to be getting worse.

    SOLUTIONNNNNN

I have a 13-inch aluminum MacBook from mid 2008. With Lion everything worked fine. today I install the Captain OS and in the first reboot everything worked fine, I even had internet and everything. I turned off the laptop, and when I turned it on again, the Wifi icon appeared as disconnected. There was no way to activate it, I restarted the laptop again and now the Wifi icon does not even appear. zero connectivity. I can't find any solution on the Internet, so right now I get the crap out of OS and reinstall Lion.

In Apple they fill the mouth of the closed ecosystem they have and are not able to correctly make an OS for the few PC models that they have on the market ... in Windows this does not happen!
