Starting this week, the fast food chain Subway meets a pilot project in collaboration with Apple, where it will offer users who use self-service in their stores, the possibility of making payments through Apple Pay.
For this, a remodeling of some current locations will be carried out, and stores will be provided with self-service kiosks that will support the new payment method that the Cupertino-based company is promoting.
In this way, since yesterday, in a series of restaurants of the brand chosen around the world, When making the payment of our order, we can choose between the different options the option of paying with Apple Pay. Although, for the moment, it will only be available for conventional orders, not valid for promotions and offers.
For added appeal, the company will accompany this campaign with the possibility of Wi-Fi connection in all establishments included in the pilot project, as well as the possibility of USB connection in all available seats in the premises.
This new design hosted by Subway, Called "Fresh Fordward" or "Ahead with Freshness" is being put to the test in a dozen locations around the world. Among the lucky ones, there are restaurants in the United States (California, Palmview, Texas Hillsboro, Oregon, Washington or Florida), Australia (some restaurants in Toronto) and the United Kingdom (in the city of Manchester).
Many pilot tests are still missing, as well as taking stock of the results in those stores that have begun to implement this new payment method, and we still do not know when the brand will allow payments with Apple Pay in all its stores. However, significant progress is expected until the end of this year 2017.
