[Poll] Do you see Windows 10 as a definite rival for OS X?

osx-vs-windows

After 24 hours of the official presentation of Windows 10 by the guys at Microsoft, we are going to ask a clear and direct question on what interests us Do you see the new Windows 10 standing up to OS X? With the survey we do not intend to look for sales numbers or similar, since Microsoft has to do very badly not to beat Apple since each PC that goes on the market arrives with a Windows license 'under the arm', while Apple It has to sell the hardware as well, what we want to ask is if you think Apple will lose customers due to the improvements implemented in the new Windows 10.

The news presented last Wednesday at the Redmond event are significant, but we must be very clear about all the points and be objective in our responses, although it is true that Windows 10 seems to take a step back in design and changes radically over the current Windows 8, this step back is for many users two steps forward thanks to the incorporation of the start menu, the only desktop screen and the possibility of using the same OS on several platforms.

We sincerely believe that Windows put the batteries with this new operating system, so we want to know your opinion first hand if you see Windows standing up to OS X.

Do you see Windows 10 as a definitive rival for OS X?

    Good afternoon Jordi:

I am a PC user who has made the leap to just a few months ago. To be more specific, I have gone from Win XP to OX 10.9 (I have not yet updated to Yosemite).

I have used Win 7 on my work computer and I think it works very well, if Win 10 improves it can really be a big step forward. On the other hand, so far I have not found any reason to complain with the Mac, everything that I have discovered I have liked a lot, however, everything I hear and read about Yosemite does not convince me to update it, so I think that Apple must have taken a step back.

I think Win is closer than ever today. What I do not know is whether on its own merits or because Apple has allowed itself to eat the ground. I find it unacceptable to have released a new operating system and to have problems with the Wiffi.

I believe that Microsoft has a huge problem and that is that it does not just find the key, that key that makes the OS user-friendly, that its use produces satisfaction and that facilitates the work instead of complicating it more with every new system.

Friends who are Windows users, Win 8 and 8.1 do not even want to see it, they are suspicious of going from 7 to 8 or 8.1, they say that everything is worse, that it complicates their life and also they are very, very burned because It seems that Microsoft has already set an expiration date for Win 7, especially those that are very games.

I, who have been a Mac user for 7 years, when I go to airports, cafeterias with Wi-Fi and public places with internet connection, I see more and more Macs, therefore more computers with OX, I have a son doing computer engineering and Most of his colleagues have Macs and of those who have PCs, many use LINUX.

I think that all competition is good, and if Windows improves, Mac will have to do more, which in some way is good for all users, personally I don't think it will steal share from Mac, especially when on Mac we have that wonderful tool that is called BOOTCAM, which does not allow to carry on our Mac OX and windows.

When you use windows you have the feeling that it does not work badly. However, when you use os x for a while, and use windows for something after a while, it gives you an impressive feeling of slowness and low optimization. Today I try not to use windows at all

I have an iMAC with BOOTCAMP ... about 2 years ago ... and the truth ... to work, play, multimedia ... etc ... I stay with WINDOWS (either 7, 8 ... etc) ... ..for 2 years that when I turn on the computer I use out of every 10 times… 9 windows, 1 os x …………… I am used to many shortcuts in windows that I don't even see them on mac… ..and that bothers me ……… .. as for windows 8… .it has not given me problems… ..not a crash or anything like that ……………. I must admit that OS X… .is very stable… .and for four things it is fine…. ( word, internet, and a few other things) ... but if we are from the computer world we throw either for WINDOWS or for LINUX.

People normally want APPLE because it is the apple ... it is more posh ... and many want it because they say that VIRUS does not enter ... (I prefer to spend 300 euros on a normal laptop and put LINUX into it).

Some ask me… ..if you go with windows why do you have an imac? Well, because I work in the world of technology and I must be up to date with everything ...

I was the owner of a 27 ″ imac (the ultra-slim one), the most powerful of the allowed configuration. I love photography and the truth is that I expected something different from the imac in terms of screen and hardware. They all install the same, I would only highlight the good work of the Mac operating system and its commitment to the interior components; something understandable when your OS is designed exclusively for them. There is so much talk about the Macs that I thought they were flying in photo editing and they were not. In the end I sold it, yes, they sell very well and little money is lost. Now I have a Dell XPS 27 ″ all-in-one and I'm delighted with it. It's my opinion, maybe I hoped that for what I spent, which was not little, I was going to get impressive results.

Hi Joserra, the most powerful Macs tend to work very well with video and photo editing programs. I don't know what programs you used on the iMac but normally with the most powerful configuration you don't usually have editing problems, although if you are a professional and make a living from it, perhaps your choice would have been the Mac Pro better.

Greetings and thanks for sharing your experience 🙂
