Swift creator Chris Lattner joins Google's ranks

At the beginning of the year we echoed a news that attracted special attention, since it affected one of the most responsible for the Swift programming language that Apple had presented a couple of years before and that had become the new way to be able to program applications in a much easier and faster way. Chris Lattner said goodbye stating that he was looking for new challenges in his career. His destination was Tesla, but it seems that the challenges they had initially proposed were impossible to meet and last July he announced his withdrawal from Elon Musk's autopilot project.

Taking Lattner's resume, obviously finding another job has not been something that has cost him a lot of work and as he has announced through his Twitter account, Lattner will join Google's artificial intelligence department on August 21. Lattner studied computer science at the University of Portland. In 2005 he joined the ranks of Apple and was a critical part of Apple's implementation of OpenGL, as well as creating and developing Swift.

google brain, is Alphabet's artificial intelligence division, where from now on Lattner will use all his knowledge, although at the moment we do not know if he will focus on a specific project or if he will become part of a development group that is already in operation.

Once Chris Lattner had left the company, Ted Kremenek was in charge of continuing the development of Swift, although it was an open source programming language, Lattner can continue to contribute to the development of this language despite having left the Cupertino-based company.
