2 TB of storage returns to the Mac Mini

Since the "new" or rather, updated Mac mini to the public at the end of October a few months have passed in which we have not had the option of 2 TB of storage when configuring the equipment to our measure, an option that was previously available in the configuration for the Mac mini Server and that many users they have missed and is that Apple withdrew it without really knowing why. In addition to this, other changes have also been introduced, such as the new processor that is less powerful a priori but more efficient, which has made it possible to reduce production costs and launch the equipment at a lower starting cost.

Now they surprise us with the return of this storage option but not only as such but also has been included in the Fusion Drive settings So we will have a conventional HDD disk together with an SSD unit to load the programs that we use the most in addition to the operating system itself, something that will undoubtedly increase the performance of the computer exponentially.

The negative part of this good news is that Apple has once again restricted this option to only the highest model of the range, that is, to the one composed of an Intel Core i5 @ 2,8 Ghz CPU, 8 Gb of RAM and 1Tb in Fusion Drive. This configuration has a base price of 999 Euros so if we want to add the 2 Tb option in Fusion Drive the price is going to 1099 Euros.

This option is added to the existing 256 Gb SSD-PCIe or 1TB in Fusion Drive without raising the price of 999 Euros in addition to the 512 Gb and 1 TB SSD-PCIe that would have an extra cost of 300 euros and 800 euros respectively.
