I think I'm not too wrong if I tell you that this year 2021 has been the year of the Macs. A year in which several different models have been presented and all have turned out to be wonderful. However, Apple is not going to sit idly by seeing its success, but is going to do everything it can to improve in all aspects. One of those aspects is to improve the interior of computers and that is why the new rumors say that next year the chip will come 2nm M4 and will come with the M2 Pro in 2023.
A new report leaked by the specialized site Commercial times presents some claims about the presence of new chips on the market for Apple Macs. Specifically, that report notes that the M2 chip will debut in the second half of 2022 (codename Staten), and that the high-end M2 Pro / M2 Max variants will be in the first half of 2023 (codename Rhodes ).
These chips will apparently be made using TSMC's 4-nanometer manufacturing process. This means that having lower build size it generally produces better performance with higher efficiency, as there is simply less space between the transistors in the array. In comparison, the current M1 / M1 Pro / M1 Max line using a 5 nanometer process.
Now, we do not know if this specialized medium has taken into account, we suppose that it has, the supply problems in the manufacture of the chips since the shortage is global. In addition, it must be borne in mind that the transition to Apple Silicon has not yet been completed in all Apple Macs and that means that in the same way we can be talking about a significant delay in these dates that are shuffled.
