The AirPower base was overheating too much

AirPower Apple launch March 2018

We have already talked before about the problems that may have precipitated the disappearance of the AirPower charging base from the foreground of Apple, in this case everything indicates that an excess of heat at the time of charging the devices would be the main reason why we will not see the base in Apple stores at least in a near period of time.

Those from Cupertino presented it to us as the perfect base for users who have an Apple Watch, AirPods and an iPhone, since it allowed the simultaneous charging of all the equipment in the same base. In reality we have not seen the Qi box of the AirPods and it seems that we are not going to see the base either overheating problems at the time of loading.

With excessive heat the charging process stops

And it is that inside the base a chip was added to protect the different equipment that is charged wirelessly in the AirPower, so that excess temperature would be synonymous with stopping the charge. Well said and done, it seems that the main problem with the base is that it got too hot at the time of loading according to the latest information that reaches the network.

The multiple coils that this base has to avoid points in which the devices will not charge could be the main reason for heating and that is that if you have a wireless charging base you will notice that when charging the iPhone or Apple Watch it heats up, because it seems that the idea of adding 24 coils in the AirPower base has not worked and the heating was such that it could even be a danger.

After a year in which it seemed that the base was lost, now there is no other choice but to resign ourselves to seeing how effectively this base was lost along the way. This is at least one anecdote on the company's resume and that is that although it is true that it is not the first product that is not officially launched, it does seem to be the first that is not launched despite the fact that it was presented in an official keynote of the signature. We'll see what happens in the end with the AirPods wireless charging box ...
