The bright side of Apple's KeyNote at MacWorld 2009

I am going to approach it from three points of view in time:

Before, during and after.

Before the KeyNote:

Days prior to January 6, the whole world was obsessed with a multitude of devices that Apple was supposed to launch at the presentation, devices such as Apple TV 3, redesigned Mac Mini, Tablet Mac or MacBook Tab, iPhone nano ... in short, everything that Restless minds want it out

Rumors and more rumors on the subject of Steve Jobs' health and his pancreatic cancer, I myself on twitter released that I believed that Steve had died. His absence announced in the presentation delegating all the weight to Phill Shiller made the entire blogosrfera crazy, it seemed that there was nothing more important to talk about apart from all the aforementioned chinaware.

During Keynote:

In numerous podcasts and Mac blogs you can read and hear how boring the text transcription of the presentation was, it is logical, when a presentation is made that delves into the benefits of iLife 09 and iWork 09, seeing it in writing has to be a nightmare. I got rid of this heavy burden as I decided to stream it.

My personal impression of the KeyNote from MacWorld 2009:

I liked him much more than many others, Phill Shiller seems to me a great guy and I think he was more than up to the event. Disagreeing with most people, I loved that they introduced the iLife and iWork 09 as they are tools that I use every day and the price is completely affordable.

Looking at it from my point of view, that is, from the point of view that they have added functionality to the Mac's that I already have without having to change any of them, I loved the presentation.

At the end of the presentation, as if that weren't enough, they tell us that the 17 ”Unibody MacBook Pro is already there and on top of that they give me the most gratifying surprise of getting an option with a matte screen. The presentation was as I saw it in my best maquero dreams. My Mac Minis have not become old and on top of it it has more functions, my iMac has the guts up to date, my MacBook Pro was already old in October but it also has more functions and works very well. The only thing I really expected was that they would talk about Snow Leopard but… how silly… if iLife always goes before !!! I had not fallen ... remember iLife 08 already included in the latest installments of the previous version of our Tiger operating system, etc ...

After the Presentation.

It's only been a week and it seems like forever due to the orde of Podcasts and blogs talking about the event. Most say that she was lame, that she was a long way from meeting expectations. Where are those new Mac Minis, those new iPhones, etc ...

They were just rumors… what does a new iPhone look like now? NOTHING.

Why did hardly anyone talk about the 17-inch unibody MacBook Pro or iLife 09 or iWork 09?

Well, because minds were covered with rumors to the limit and so Apple could release its One More Thing de rigueur to announce that the 17 MacBook Pro with a new generation battery is already here, and not happy with that, it took out another One Last Thing to talk about the great news of the removal of DRM in the music from the iTunes Store although it has raised prices in a very subtle way ...

I think that, as Roberto says in his I don't have iPhone podcast, Apple wants to change its public policy a bit. It has been years since it has been going wrong to continue keeping its technological advances a secret and I think they are taking the determination to return to the "silent" updates, that is, suddenly a gadget appears in the Apple Store and the blogosphere takes care of the tedious work to make it known to other Apple fanboys. The surprise factor will now be carried out without the need to mount a macro-event and I think it's great.

In summary: My impression is that the KeyNote was very complete, very pleasant and entertaining and has awakened my desire for iLife 09 to arrive as soon as possible and maybe a 17 MacBook Pro with a matte screen in my hands, although the truth is, the latter in I don't really need it since now at home I work with my 20-year-old iMac, my 15-year-old MacBook Pro being more than enough for my outings.

Finally a sensible comment to Keynote. I also liked it and I was amazed by the iPhoto and iMovie theme. And, of course, the 8 hours of autonomy ... a whole battery!
I've been on Mac since June 2008 (half a year) and my only regret is not having bought a Mac before.
I am tempted by the MacBook Pro 17 ″ with a matte screen, but… heh heh, the crisis.
If I get money that I hope, I buy it.
    Thanks for your blog.
