The eSIM of the Apple Watch would not allow making calls

4 apple watches

We have been a few days in which the Apple Watch is rising as the protagonist of the rumors and these rumors speak of the incorporation of an eSIM to be able to make the device a little more independent from the iPhone. In this case, one of the rumors warned that the new Apple Watch Series 3 models would allow making calls independently to the iPhone, now it seems that this will not be so.

We can get into an intense debate about using Apple Watch as a phone and we are sure that more than one of those present could see it totally normal, some as an option for specific calls and many others would see it as something unnatural or without the possibility of working.

The good thing about the eSIM is that it takes up little space on the device as it is integrated, something that some iPad models already have and possibly also incorporate the Apple Watch Series 3. Everything is still part of the rumors and soon we will leave doubts about its incorporation or not in the smart watch that could present in September.

The one that will be the new watch of the Cupertino firm will have the eSIM card integrated and can allow the use of data, but not calls. To make calls, the iPhone is already available and, failing that, the possibility of answering some of the incoming calls from the watch, something that we already have since the first version of the Apple Watch. It is true that VoIP calls could be made from the Apple Watch thanks to LTE connectivity, but personally I think that the operators will not be for the work and will limit this possibility.

On some occasions and as the owner of a first generation Apple Watch I have picked up an incoming call and the experience is interesting especially if we are using Bluetooth headphones or AirPods, since the volume is good, but something fair if we are on the street with noisy. In short, we have to think that all the improvements implemented in the new watch are welcome and that we are facing a relatively new device at Apple, with plenty of room for improvement over the next few years.
