We have previously discussed the use that Apple TV would have for the proper functioning of HomeKit when we are away from home. Last December Apple received confirmation of a patent for Apple Tv with direct relation to the conferences, it is now confirmed by some developers that the small device will be key to the use of HomeKit.
Apple follows its particular path in the world of home automation and for using HomeKit functions at home will not be necessary to have Apple TV, but if we want to use them away from home, this will become an essential requirement in addition to a connection to the network.
Little by little more details are emerging and the path of HomeKit and its direct relationship with Apple TV is emerging. thanks in part to the beta versions and the developers. It is worth noting the options that have been added since the latest beta for Apple TV that already allow access and control of some HomeKit tasks. Something that also seems evident is that Apple launched a new Apple TV with greater features and capable of performing demotic tasks.
The Apple TV can become a perfect remote access hub for HomeKit, support for Family Sharing and be used for tests with iOS and OS X applications. We will continue to see all of this. In the not too distant future as CES in Las Vegas is already a spectacular launch and presentation platform for Apple and HomeKit compatible devices.
