As you probably already know, during Keynote on October 30, we saw several new products, and one of those that undoubtedly attracted the most attention was the renewed Mac mini, on which we had already talked to you here, and in this case it offers us a multitude of improvements and novelties compared to the previous version.
However, Apple is not very given to showing results of benchmarks or performance tests in its presentations, and that is why it always draws a lot of attention to see the results of new products, and this time we already know the results you get on Geekbench this new Mac mini, just like we already met the results of the new MacBook Air.
Geekbench numbers show us the potential of the new Mac mini
As we have learned, recently it has appeared in the database of the popular Geekbench platform, a test of what this new Mac mini would be, although yes, in this case we would not be talking about the most basic version, but a personalized one with a 7th Gen Intel Core i8 with 6 cores as a processor, accompanied by UHD 630 graphics, and 32 GB of RAM (Although technically the latter barely scores in the benchmarks).
As you will see, it is not the most basic version, but we would be talking about a model that It costs a minimum of 2.209 euros in the Apple Store right now, an important factor to take into account, since its price is much higher than the most basic versions of the equipment.
But be that as it may, the scores that this team has obtained in Geekbench are 5512 points for Single-Core, and nothing more and nothing less than 23516 points in the Multi-Core.
As you can see, the results of these tests are really satisfactory, and the work behind this new Mac mini really shows. In addition, these results are also great when compared to other of the firm's equipment.
For example, the most expensive 2018 MacBook Pro currently available in the Apple Store is very much on par with this particular Mac mini, not to say (albeit by very little) the new Mac mini outperforms it in terms of results, since it obtains a score of 5443 points in the Single-Core, and 22556 points in the Multi-Core.
Also, this is not a particular case, since we can also compare it with the 2013 Mac Pro, which in this case the new Mac mini would be approaching very dangerously the figures obtained by these teams in the Geekbench Multi-Core, while in terms of the Single-Core it is already capable of exceeding them.
And, of course, we also have the entire range of iMac, which above all this year have not been renewed, so in a way this Mac mini would have a slight advantage, but in the same way in these tests he beats everyone.
Ultimately, the only team that couldn't be beaten by the new Mac mini should be the iMac Pro, a very high-performance team that focuses on being offered for large companies or professionals, since it has a brutal power, but of course, also in this case the price difference taking into account that we are not talking about the basic version of the Mac mini, it would also be much larger, although of course you can also create higher configurations of this new equipment.
Anyway, something we must always keep in mind is that this kind of benchmarks don't really show us completely relevant dataSince all Apple computers are optimized to perform perfectly with macOS, and for you to be able to appreciate the difference between all these numbers, it would really be necessary to execute very heavy tasks. Either way, next November 7 they will begin to be distributed these new Macs around the world, and that's when we can see the real power of all the new versions.
