The first benchmarks of the new 12 ″ MacBook appear

How could it be otherwise, the appearance of a new member of the Mac family always brings with it shortly after its appearance, the first synthetic performance tests and in this field GeekBench is always the application chosen for this purpose. This time it is the turn of the 12 ″ Retina MacBook renovation that, although they have undergone internal changes to improve the overall speed of the equipment, externally they maintain the same design as their predecessor last year.

The first benchmarks for this new 12-inch MacBook show an increase of approximately 15% in performance, as we can see thanks to reports from John Poole, founder of Primate Labs and the aforementioned Geekbench.

John Pool made known thanks to a tweet, a comparison of a benchmark in 32 bits of this new MacBook against the old version getting 2670 points for the single core test compared to 2303 for the previous generation. In the multi-core test, the new model scored 5252 versus 4621 for the older device.

On the other hand, in the 64-bit test it achieved a single-core task score of 2894 points and a multicore score of 5845 points. Both tests were carried out on a 1.2 GHz model.

Personally, I expected a deeper renovation of the equipment with a better quality FaceTime camera since the one it integrates is quite out of date, in addition to more RAM and perhaps in addition to all this, some extra Thunderbolt port since the only USB-C port is I find it scarce, inevitably reminding me the first versions of the MacBook Air, where if you can remember, it only had a single USB port and the headphone jack hidden behind a cover on the housing.
